The Honda brand has been strongly associated with motorsports for several decades, with the company having had a presence in various forms of auto mobile and motorcycle racing. At present, the Honda Racing Team is active in a number of competitions, a few of which are outlined below.

Touring Cars

The Honda Racing Team is well established within the BTCC series, and won four consecutive championships in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013. The team currently consists of the 2011 Drivers’ Champion, Matt Neal, and the 2012 Drivers’ Champion, Gordon Shedden. Meanwhile, on the international stage, Honda were World Touring Car Manufacturers’ Champions in 2013, thanks to their hugely impressive Honda Civic WTCC model.


Throughout the years, Honda have also achieved glory within the sport of Motocross, winning a total of six World Championships. Their most recent major success came in the 2013 season, when Klemen Gerčar won the 125cc Drivers’ Championship on the back of a Honda motorcycle.

British Superbike

The 2015 season sees the Honda Racing Team making their full-time return to the British Superbike Championship, after spending a year developing the Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade. Current team members include Jason O’Halloran, Dan Linfoot and Jenny Tinmouth – who is the first and only female rider to compete in the competition.
